Marion saw the tower when they were coming through the hills…it was a place of such beauty. the tall tower was not cold or angry, it was just still almost singing to her. the birds chirped loudly here and the trees were green with hope for fall…the rains must have just come here. it was early for rain, they were in mid august, it wasnt even hot for august. In most of the elven empire it was steaming hot but not here it was cooler. they must be up higher than the rest of the world. Marion looked out the other window and saw the mountains fog coming over the top. she looked down and saw mossy cliffs and trees scattered with foliage, “just beautiful for august”, she thought. the tower was soon lost to the cliffs and as they turned the next tower she was astonished to see a little castle perched in the trees that the tower belonged to. “how beautiful this place was and how welcoming it looked to her. much more like a home than her present one. they came to the front gates which were held by two towers and one of the guards jumped off the carriage and opened them. they squeaked loudly and a few elven nuns came out to see what was going on. then a very large nun came up to the carriage as it pulled in. “what is the meaning of this?” she smiled welcommingly. the first guard came around to her and held out a piece of paper. “by orders of Our King Dartan the 3rd.” he said she took the paper and read it quickly. “wonderful!” she said and called the ladies to come and help. many ladies came from the entry door and out and into the corridor. “will you two men help us put the princesses things in her room?” “yes right away.” he said looking at her. “Sister Margarette”, said the older nun, “please show these men to the Royal sweet.” the second guard unstrapped the princesses trunk and the two men hauled it up to were the Royal sweat was. Marion opened her own door and looked at the nun bewilderingly as she came out. “hello-” marion said curtying “hello my dear!” she said curtsying back. why you are magnificent!” the nun said to marion. “thank you, but why?” “oh well because my dear…you have come to us to be a nun, why else?” “im sorry Sister-” “oh were are my manners, im Sister Loise.” “Sister Loise, i have come here against my will to be a nun, i never wanted this, i wanted to fall in love and well…” the guards came out and stepped back and onto the cart… “just a moment gentlemen…your meaning to tell me we don’t get anything out of this, not even a horse! its a long walk to town!” “Give it to them….” the other guard said bumping the first one. “oh im terribly sorry sister…here you go.”he threw a large bag of coins at her and whipped the rains as she caught it, the elders thank you boys, have a nice ride home!” she said smiling. two younger nuns followed the carriage out and shut the gates behind them locking them with a large lock. “now what were you saying?” “well- the king has sent me here against my will and i only had asked the elders for one thing my whole life and that was to love and i did and then he sent me away because he killed my best friend Gila..” Marion was in tears now and she collapsed on the floor in front of Sister Loise. “oh, Marion. Come- lets get you something to eat and ill take you to the garden, OK?” Sister Loise looked into Marion’s eyes and breathed in hard…Marion looked up at her. “what?” sister laughed. “oh nothing- do you like bread and duck?” “oh yes, yes i do.” “good we just so happen to have some left from lunch.” Sister Katherine could you please get some duck and bread oh and some of that wagapi juice for her too. Sister Katherine smiled and winked at her and then went to get the items Sister Loise asked for. Sister Loise took Marion to the Garden and walked her to a tree that sat on the edge of the cliff overlooking the world they belonged to. about a hundred feet down Marion could see a large river and past the mountains were the ogappi mountains were the ogappi elven monks lived who studied the elders and what it meant to be an elder. it always snowed there in the hottest of summers or the coldest of winters. Marion sat on the stone bench and took in the sights and smells of this place. “its beautiful here.” Marion said “yes it is…” this forest has not seen the evils of this world and i hope it never will.” Marion smiled for the first time since she had made love to Sir Richard. Sister Margaretta came with a small tray of food for the both of them. “now my dear come tell me of what has happened to you.” Sister Loise said waving for Sister Margaretta to come with the tray to them. She placed the food down in between the two of them and Marion smiled, “this looks delicious.” “well thank you” sister Marion said smiling. everyone here makes the food that we eat and we also grow all the fruits and vegetables here on the mountain, but sometimes we go down to town for spices and such just to make some days extra special. besides people would think we were crazy if we just stayed up here all the time!” Sister Loise laughed a little and took a bite of her bread. Marion thanked sister Margarette and she bowed accordingly. “so Princess, you were saying that you have not come here to be a nun is that what your telling me?” “im sorry to say its true…i actually cant be a nun, Ive sinned the worst out of all of you.” “you have?” “yes, i have a human lover…well- had.” “oh- my dear im so sorry, and you have everything for him?” “well- yes and no, we was the one i had always hoped for and more than that. His name was Sir Richard…and he was the human Kings best friend and knight. ” “oh- and my best friend Gila gave up her life so that he wouldn’t be drawn and quartered for killing the young prince, he would just be beheaded.” Sister Loise listened to Marion’s story and felt the heartbreak Marion had twords looking everyone close to her. Then when Marion’s story was finished she kissed Marion on the forehead and picked up her hand. “come my dear let us go pray.” Sister Loise took Marion to the church which sat south west of were they were sitting. The bells to the tower started to ring and it echoed through out the mountains. it sounded as if the mountains were rejoicing with news of hope through these lands and trying to share it through out their world.
Nuns from all over the place were coming out and greeting Marion as she walked with them. she felt out of place all the woman wore black and white while she wore a pretty green dress she had just throne on for decency, when she left. The church was old, much older than even the old castle she used to call home. The doors were brown and beautiful, dark with age. there was not a symbol in the church except above the alter which was a star…the elders star. Sister Loise took Marion to a seat at the front and presented it so Marion could sit, she did. Sister Margarette sat next to her and smiled, Marion noticed that Margarette must not be older than she was, she looked to be of 16 or 17 but not older than that. Sister Loise waited for the bells to stop and all the nuns sat before her, still and quiet.
“My fellow Sisters how are you all today?” Sister Loise started. “they all smiled and said, “it is a great day to love!” in unison. Marion smiled, what love she could feel in this room, they respected Loise so much that she could actually feel it in this room. Marion smiled. “now- straight to business…oh who am i kidding!?” she laughed and the other ladies laughed too. “first let me introduce our guest…Her name is Princess Marion of our King Dartan and Queen Lima.” the nuns clapped and many of them said hello to her into her ear. Marion smiled and looked back at all of them and waved. “now i wish to tell the tale of our elders… i know it is a story we all know well but lets just listen to its meaning and understand why we have been told this story so many times.” Sister Loise took a long breath and started….” long ago when the earth was untouched by farm lands and my buildings of such greatness. we had a god…not just any god but in fact the creator of all. now God wished to share his life with someone. He had wanted to share experiences with them and wanted them to learn for themselves what was good and bad. Well he decided to have a son…a single born son to which he could teach much to him and let him learn and play with this world. but our god was no genius and instead of one son he created two. Two boys with the same heart and soal but not the same mind. Remulouse and Ramouse, now these boys were special they were created from a star our star Lima, our mother star. Now remulouse…was a handsome man, he had fathers strength and willingness to love but Ramouse was smart and loved to create much. But as our boys grew in this world. Ramouse wanted more than to play with the animals and each other, he wanted to create as his father did…to create life was to be seen as a god in the mortal realm. So Ramouse asked his father for one gift to be given to him as he was his son, and so god gave him that one gift of creation but there was a catch…Ramouse couldn’t create something new he had to pick something and make it into what ever he wanted…like how god had made the boys from their mother star Lima. Ramouse wanted to create castles and homes to play in, so he did from rocks and trees and such. But when his brother Remulouse saw what his brother was doing he also asked for the same gift as his brother and God gave him the same with exactly the same rules. But Remulouse didn’t want homes or castles he wanted love…something his brother never really understood. Now Remulouse looked far and wide for something he loved but he never could find it….until he found a pink flower…a plum trees first bloom. Now this bloom was beautiful and white which an pink center…he loved the smell and when he placed it into the water of a stream he asked it to change….and she did…she changed into something beautiful. A woman white hear and pink eyes, she called herself Marie. Marie and Remulouse were in love and they lived off the land in such a magical way. But Ramouse saw Marie…and he was jealous. He wanted revenge on his brother for creating something so beautiful and when he tried the flower just turned into a strange deformed creature of himself, you see Ramouse loved himself more than anything else and as such he couldn’t create beautiful things.” Ramouse married his creation and called her Mary. She looked like him and was smart like him but she couldn’t create anything beautiful either. Ramouse and Remulouse fought much about their creations and who was better at what…but as time went on god was tired of his sons and gave them a choice either live forever and love each other or come back to heaven. Ramulouse asked god to stay for he had always loved his brother and never hated him. But Ramouse wasn’t happy, he wanted to be the only son of god and because of that Ramouse killed his brother. God returned Remulouse back to the land to grown in everyone of earths creations while Ramouse died alone and returned back to heaven with god, to see watch as his brother made piece and love apart of his life and accepted people as they were instead of who was better. Now hundreds of years passed and Ramouses children grew stronger…they created a people called The elven people who were long bodied and sharp of whit. while Remulouses children created a people called the humans who built their world off of love and piece. The two worlds have fought since the dawning of man kind but we still believe in what is important..we believe in god…the elders Ramouse and Remulouse and or course our mother star Lima.” Sister Loise looked at Marion and said now what did you take from the story?” “honestly…i believe that love is our only way out of this circle of death.” Sister Loise smiled, and you said you weren’t here to be a nun. my dear you are already thinking like one.”
